Acoustics

Foams are a low cost way to absorb sound waves by either the sound diffusing through open cell foams with the cell strands absorbing the energy. Closed cell foams have good dissipating properties and will cushion the sound.

Packaging & Protection

Foams are used in packaging applications because they are generally low density, lightweight and offer a degree of comfort as well as good impact resistance. The foams can be designed to conform to all sizes and shapes. Special foam extrusions can be used for more specific applications such as bespoke edge and corner protectors

Packaging Foams

Sealing

Closed cell foams are excellent products for sealing especially with high pressures. Slight compression creates a good seal where reasonably flat surfaces to be joined are present. Where uneven surfaces exist, new low compression force foams have been developed to allow for irregularities.

Closed Cell Foams

Closed-cell foams, have intact and separate cells that are created at the foaming stage, making them non-permeable. These foams insulate against heat and cold and absorb shocks and vibrations.

Open Cell Foams

Open cell foams start as closed cells , which burst during the foaming process resulting in interconnecting cells. These foams allow water ingress and are softer and more flexible.
