Through our constant search for new foams, we have developed a partnership with CRF who is a manufacturer of fire-resistant, low smoke generating "Open Cell" foams.

This includes foams from low smoke emission polychloroprene (neoprene) foam to neoprene based hybrid cushioning. CRF capabilities include an internal capability of continuing research and development in an effort to offer the best products possible to the marketplace. Fire-resistant cushioning has been developed which exhibits excellent physical properties, and are lighter in weight than ever before possible.

The company also manufactures fluid application and ink transmission foams for a variety of specialty applications.

The company additionally manufactures fire resistant mattresses utilizing various foam composites for military bedding and shipboard applications.

CR Safguard®

Fire-resistant, low smoke CR SAFGUARD® was developed specifically for use in institutions vulnerable to vandalism, arson and accidental ignition. Jails, prisons and young offender's centres are excellent examples of high-risk institutions which receive maximum benefits from the use of CR SAFGUARD® cushioning.

CR SAFGUARD® will not support combustion when exposed to substantial, open flame ignition sources. In full-scale, "real world" burn testing, CR SAFGUARD® displays extremely low levels of smoke generation. The cushioning is ideally suited to the detention environment as opposed to fiber alternatives which compress quickly and exhibit hazards from open flame ignition sources.

CR Safguard® XL & Prevent® II

In the surface transportation market, CR SAFGUARD® XL and PREVENT® II were developed for enhanced seating safety for mass transportation vehicles.

CR SAFGUARD® XL was designed to endure the high level of abuse experienced by seat bottom cushions, and is ideal for use in new vehicles (bus and rail), retrofit cushion projects, and aftermarket maintenance repairs. Improvements exhibited by CR SAFGUARD® XL include: increased durability, improved resiliency, greater comfort and support characteristics, and enhanced aging properties. CR SAFGUARD® XL has undertaken rigorous flexure fatigue testing, exhibiting unnoticeable change after 5 complete rounds of 200,000 cycles. (1,000,000 total).

PREVENT® II vandal resistant cushioning composite utilizes CR SAFGUARD® XL fire-resistant cushioning bonded to a vandal resistant barrier fabric. All components used in the manufacture of PREVENT® II easily comply with all of the U.S. Federal Railway Administration safety regulations and the Federal Transportation Administration fire performance criteria.

Unlike traditionally hard vandal-resistant seating, PREVENT® II provides comfortable cushioning in combination with vandal-resistant performance. PREVENT® II easily provides cost and maintenance benefits over the life of a transit seat in comparison to conventional, thinly padded, non-vandal resistant seats. A special vinyl coating can also be applied to create a fluid resistant cushioning composite.

CR VONAR™

CR VONAR™ interliners are thin layers of cellular polychloroprene (neoprene) used as a fire protection barrier for interior furnishings and wall padding applications. Other common applications of CR VONAR include office panelling and as thin foam laminated to fabric.
